Put them into an updo, a creative corn-row or interwoven look. Although
many ladies are opting to keep their natural shade, you’ll
see lots of locs with gold and caramel colors in the coming monthd.
Whether you prefer wearing them tightly twisted at the roots or
letting nature dictate their growth, locs let you make your own
style statement.
Cornrow
Glow
A time-saver that’s just a beautiful as other braided looks,
Uniformity is the key to achieving a beautifully designed head of
cornrows. Start by neatly parting and then braiding the hair. Cornrow
braids are done to the scalp and come in different varieties like:
goddess braids, fishtails, etc. They are a great style for business,
after five and casual occasions and can be worn with or without
extensions.
Flatwist
Make your short hair sexy and stylish wth a flirty flatwist style.
This style is done with or without extensions using a protein gel.
The hair is parted like it's done for cornrows and then twisted
in a certain pattern. Once this is done, the hair can be set in
a dryer.
Human hair individual braids
include microbraids (tiny) and semi micros (one or two sizes bigger
than microbraids). This form of braiding allows the wearer to change
styles from rolling, rodding, french rolling or flat ironing the
loose hair, due to its fine texture, whereas human hair cannot be
burned or used for large braids. Care must be taken when curling
the hair with heat not to burn or dry out the wearer's own hair
underneath.
Double Strand Twists.
This style is done by braiding individual pieces of synthetic hair,
human hair or other textures of extensions into the hair partially,
separating them into two sections and twisting them like a rope. The
ends can be burned (if it's done with extensions) or rodded and dipped
in hot water (if it's done with kanekalon fiber for a curly look).
Silky Locs.
Similar to the yarn locs, this style is done by braiding in pieces
of synthetic fiber into the hair and wrapping the braid with more
hair to the desired length. The main difference is the more shiny
appearance of the hair and the fact that the ends frizz and sometimes
unravel.
Weaves (Sewn).
To accomplish this healthy, versatile style, braid the hair in small
cornrows in a designated pattern with a small amount of kanekalon
fiber to protect the hair from the tension of the thread. Using a
weaving needle and tread, sew wefts of the extensions of your choice
on the cornrows for a head full of tumbling tresses. Blend whatever
hair that may have been left out of the cornrows into the extensions,
cut and style. When properly done, weaves shouldn't be very tight
and uncomfortable and can last for two to four months and can be washed
once or twice a month.
